What is This Scam?

Scammers are sending fake SMS messages claiming to be from electricity boards, threatening immediate disconnection if payment is not made. These messages contain malicious links that lead to phishing websites designed to steal your banking credentials and OTPs.

How to Protect Yourself

  • Verify bills directly from official electricity board website or app
  • Do not share OTP with anyone, even if they claim to be officials
